Cinder Hill Fly Fishing

First formed In 1989, as an offshoot from the Sussex Branch of the then Salmon & Trout Association (now Salmon & Trout Conservation UK) as the Cinder Hill Trouting Syndicate and has since in 2019, adopted the working title of Cinder Hill Fly Fishing, the objective being to  provide affordable fly fishing for trout for the members in beautiful surroundings and this ethos continues to the present day.

The fisheries are situated near Horsted Keynes in West Sussex, comprising two venues, each having three lakes, in beautiful surroundings on the edge of Ashdown Forest, offering members some of the best value fly fishing in the area.  All the waters are stream fed and subject to weather conditions, regularly stocked with quality, hard fighting, rainbow and brown trout of various sizes.

The waters are artificial fly only and the fish can be caught on a wide variety of fly fishing techniques to suit all angling tastes, responding freely to dry fly tactics during the warmer months of the year.

Membership of Cinder Hill Fly Fishing is available to all, regardless of domicile, age or gender and entitles members to 25 visits per season, with a catch limit of three fish per visit, the season being from the beginning of March through to the end of November each year.

Limited catch and release fishing is also permitted in the cooler months in the early months at the beginning of the season.

To minimise costs, much of the essential site maintenance work is carried out by the members themselves who are encouraged to assist in fishery maintenance work parties which are arranged from time to time during the year. Those who participate receive an additional visit for every session attended.

Membership of Cinder Hill Fly Fishing is a real bargain; currently just 285 for the season.
